Hair is an essential part of a woman's body and they are noticed at the very first sight. Achieving healthy, beautiful and nourished hair is every woman's wish. You may use loads of chemical products to get that shine on your hair but in fact they severely damage hair. Chemical products give desired effects on hair but temporarily. It takes a lot of patience and dedication to achieve and maintain healthy hair and it doesn't require super expensive products that lead to damage.
My mom used to have long and silky hair in her young days and still have it. I asked her about it and she gave me some awesome tips for hair that actually works. Thought I should share them with you:
Tip #1: Trim your hair regularly to avoid split-ends.
Remedy for split ends: Take a towel soaked in hot water and squeeze it. Then cover your hair with it and leave it for 7-10 mins. This way, your hair will get the spa treatment instantly.
Tip #2. Apply oil from root to tips. Coconut oil is most effective for keeping hair nourished. Use almond oil if you have dry hair and scalp.
Tip #3. Mix half lemon juice with henna and make a paste. Apply it on your hair and leave it on for an hour or two and then rinse off. It will work as a conditioner and you won't need to shampoo after that.
Tip #4. Never wash your hair with hot water as it can lead to bad hair fall and tends to weaken hair roots. Also avoid using blow dryer and instead keep hair open and let it dry naturally.
Tip #5. Protect hair from cold wind as it increases frizz. Exposure to direct sunlight also makes hair dry and rough.
Tip #6. For oily scalp, Mix Multani mitti (Fuller's Earth) with water and make a paste. Then apply it liberally on hair. Leave it for half an hour. Wash it afterwards and all the oiliness will be gone.
Tip #7. Avoid too much stress as it can lead to hairfall and undernourished hair.
Tip #8. Include healthy foods and proteins in your diet : fish, coconut, milk products, beans and whole grains, green veggies,etc.
Tip #9. Regular combing for, say 5 minutes, increases the blood circulation in head and helps in faster growth of hair.
Tip #10. Don't go to bed with tied hair and instead leave them open. Let your hair breathe. Also avoid tight hair bands.
