Lakme Rose Powder in Warm Pink - Review

Sunday, August 09, 2015

It's raining since morning in Delhi and I've got a nice weather to begin with. ;)
In such a cool weather one won't expect any mishaps in makeup but after raining it leaves a very bad humidity which makes skin greasy and sticky which we all hate. I seal up my make up or just any other day cream with a pat of loose powder on my face and today's review will be on that only.
So now I'm going to share my experience with Lakme Rose Powder In 02 Warm Pink shade for wheatish to dusky skin.

Packaging: Lakme Rose Powder comes in a usual dark maroon Lakme cap with a beige body. It comes in a tub that is huge! There's a transparent plastic lid above the powder with 5 small holes in it to let the powder pass through. It also has a powder puff which is soft.

My Experience: When I first saw this I thought it to be blush and then maybe a compact in a powder form. I bought it anyway because its description looked pretty. It comes in two shades: Soft Pink and Warm Pink. Warm Pink is meant for wheatish to dusky complexion whereas Soft Pink for fair to medium complexion. After buying it I got to know it was a loose powder. I was not interested in any loose powder at all because I knew I don't want it but now I'm happy I made this choice!

This powder is very fine and soft with a slight rosy fragrance. It appears pinkish on the outside but when applied gives out an effect of compact but with a light coverage. For very dusky skin tones it might look ashy but once you blend, it gets evenly distributed. I use powder puff for patting but a powder brush will do it better for blending well on face. I use less quantity and ultimately build it up. When I apply it gives me a matte look.

How I use it? I apply it over a foundation or a day cream to make it last longer. I apply it on my eyes before applying kajal or eyeshadow and it doesn't smudge at all thereafter. I also apply it over a concealer to make its effect last long. I apply it over my blush and the color hardly fades away. I'm glad I bought it.

It stays on me for no less than 4 hours and that's enough for me. It claimed to have sunscreen but no SPF mentioned so I'm skeptical. It contains all sorts of parabens which is scary but it doesn't bother me. It's a better choice over compact for a daily wear as it gives a natural look. I'm absolutely in love with this product because it rescues me from a bad smudged makeup. The only drawback is the hassle I have to face when opening the lid and powder scatters everywhere and of course the size of tub which makes it difficult to be carried anywhere.

Final Words: Overall I liked the finish it gave me. Though it's a huge tub, it works effectively on skin. It didn't cause me breakouts and stays longer on face making makeup stay longer. If you don't like compacts then this is a right choice. It's affordable too so there's no harm in trying it! :)
