Summer Detox Skincare Guide

Our skin looks worse than ever after so many dull days that have left a trace on it. In order to get the skin you have always wanted to and to see that healthy glow you should start summer detox as soon as possible because it does not happen over night! Summer is all about being in bloom and revitalized, and your skin needs the same too!

Eliminate Bad Habits

Smoking, alcohol and food rich in sugar are your skin’s archenemy. Try to cut on these products if you want to detox your skin. No one likes yellow stains on their fingers and if you try to reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke, your skin will be very grateful. Alcohol deprives your body from the much needed water and your skin gets completely dehydrated. There is no alcohol that will be good on your skin! Try to drink as much water as you can, at least 8 glasses per day. If you have cravings, please refrain from eating food rich in sugar as it will do you more harm than good. Try to go for some healthy snacks, such as fruit. You will see the difference instantly.

Diet is Everything



Everything comes from the diet, so you should try to change it to be as much as healthy as you can. What you should is eat a lot of leafy green vegetables, as these have a large amount of antioxidants. Spinach can be your most valuable ally in the battle for a glowing skin because it is rich in folate, an important element for DNA repair. Apart from leafy greens, you should put healthy fats on your grocery shopping list. Salmon, walnuts, almonds, avocado and eggs will make your skin look healthy and glowing in no time. DIY Quick Fix



If you want to start the summer detox right now, here is something that I have tried and that did wonders to me. You should use a cucumber and a half of lemon to make a juice which will help you get the skin you have always dreamed of. Cucumber will help you shed some extra pounds and lemon will help you cleanse the body. If you feel like spicing things up a bit, you can always add some spinach or kale to get the much needed folate.

What is there to do after detox?

Once you have changed your diet, there is still something to do to help your skin stay radiant. Forget about cosmetic products that are harsh on your skin. Try to find the most skin friendly products that will help you stay hydrated and glowing. A friend recommended to me Dermalogica skincare products which proved to be really great after detox. They nourished my skin and I started using them instead of all the other ones which disturbed my skin’s natural moisture balance.

Don't Forget Your Face



Yes, you have treated your entire body to detox it, but do not forget about your face. I started making facial masks from organic products on my own. The most effective one is the one for which you will need a half of a ripe avocado, two tablespoons of honey and a half of teaspoon of coconut oil. Mash the avocado to make it creamy, add the other ingredients and blend them. While applying it on your face, go gentle with it and avoid the eye area. Leave it for at least 15 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water and you are good to go. Try to do this three times a week to get the best effects. 
In order to combat the dry skin we got from the winter you need to make some radical changes. Ditch the poor diet habits and eat more leafy greens and drink lots of water, use quality skincare products and make facial masks to hydrate your skin.
